FREE Messageboard for your website!

It has been quite a while since my last post and there are still no advertisers. I am however still receiving 900-1200 visitors a month. I have been thinking a lot about what to do with the website, and I have decided to make some changes. There will soon be a free Messageboard package available for webmasters. Webmasters receive a Messageboard on which Message2All.com will manage advertising and the webmaster can manage everything else himself.
I will also change the advertising system after releasing the package, I'm not entirely sure about the details yet.

6-6-6, 2000 visitors last weekend!

It has been a great weekend, my press release was picked up by some websites and there were a few new websites who placed links to Message2All.com as well. Yesterday there were some Spanish sites who placed links, which generated a nice stream of traffic resulting in a Spanish take-over of the board. That is why there are so many messages in Spanish at the moment.
The over-all number of visitors this weekend was great, 508 on Friday, 280 on Saturday, 439 on Sunday and a stunning 769 on Monday, almost 2000 visitors in 4 days! I hope it stays that way form now, so if you own a website, place a link! And keep checking out this website, because the first advertisers can't be long now.

Banner

Message2All.com - If you've got something to say!

Visitor and message numbers are rising again, so I took the time today to create a neat banner. That way you can link to this website if you like. It is only available in one size at the moment, 240x120 pixels, but I may make some more soon. If you want to link to me with a banner you can copy the code under the banner and paste it into your own website. It will be hosted at this website and therefore won't cost you any bandwidth!

Update: €25,- blocks!

I have been working on the website the last couple of hours and felt like I needed to do an update. The most important thing I changed is the price of an advertising block, which is now €25,- (approximately $30,-). I did this because I think this might get the early advertisers over the bridge, and I can always raise it again as business starts to run.
Another thing I did was leaving links on some websites to create some more traffic. I also wrote a press release on PressCenter which I hope will be picked up by some news sites and generate even more traffic!
Let's see what it does!

Where have I been?

I left the website alone for a month to see what it would do, and I'm not dissapointed with about 50 visitors daily. It is however far less than what I would like it to be, so it seems I should find some really good ways of getting publicity. My website has now been added to many search engines, which took a while, so I'm glad with that. I wonder if it had anything to do with the robots.txt file I created, after that the website was found within a day or so.

Busy week

It has been a busy week in more ways than one. For the website things really started running this week. Although the high daily visitor numbers of the beginning of the week (477 on Monday and 303 on Tuesday) were not reached the last few days, the numbers of the last 5 days still amount to a staggering 1200 visitors! They left a lot of messages behind, leaving almost no more white space on the board.
I also made lots of small changes to the website, one of them makes your name show as 'Anonymous' when you leave the name field empty.

Yesterdays Stats

I was pleasantly supprised when I saw yesterdays stats this morning: a total of 477 visitors visited this site yesterday. There were over a hundred messages posted, which means that about 25% of visits resulted in a message being posted. Not a bad percentage at all!
Let's see what today will bring...

Update: There were allot of new messages again today, some of them were gone soon after someone flooded the board. I took care of this by setting the maximum number of messages to be 2 in 5 minutes.

Message boom

Today was a real step forward, there has been a real boom in messages. It was delightful to see the growing amount of messages during the day. The message flow started this morning around 9 and hasn' stopped since. Some of them were really original, others were not, but I enjoyed reading all of them.
This evening someone found out it was possible to post empty messages, this problem has been taken care of. Another problem that was solved today was the slashes appearing in front of certain signs such as * and ? in users' names.
Even though there was a large amount of messages posted today, there is still some white space left on the board. I'm guessing that won't last any longer than a few days at the current rate!

Bad words

As more and more messages appear on the board, there have also been some indecent messages. Today I took some measurements to avoid this in the future. If you now type a banned word in your message, it will not be posted and you will receive an error message. If you see anything slipping through onto the board which you consider indecent, please let me know.
I am happy with the way things are going at the moment, the only thing that is missing is the first advertisements ;)

First messages

It is nice to see that the first messages have appeared on the board the last few days. Today there even was someone who posted a link, I am flattered. The link was posted using a free message though, so I fixed the leak and made sure the first one was also the last one. I however see it as a good sign that someone is willing to put their link on the board anyhow. I mailed the owner of the website to offer him an advertising block.
I started generating some small publicity the last few days by having websites linking to me. I'm waiting with the more important and greater publicity for a short while, until things will get running.

Keep them messages coming!

Official launch day!

Today is the official launch day of Message2All.com, I find it really exciting and hope to be seeing some visitors soon! The first bit of publicity is coming from one of my old websites: CooleGifs.tk which as of this morning will be redirected to this website. It is a non-commercial website hosting animated GIF images, which is getting about 3000 visitors a month. I will use this method only in the early stages to get this website known to the public. If you are still looking for the other website it can be found here.
I won't be doing to much work today as my family wants to do some things together on Easter Monday. This consequently means that I will be doing a lot of work on the website and publicity tomorrow. In the meanwhile place some messages or buy your own advertising blocks!

Bug fixed and an FAQ

My sister found quite a big bug today: if you used a line break (enter key) in your message everything behind the enter would not show up and the entire message would be placed in the upper left corner. It was an easy fix though and I'm glad it was found before official launch. If you think you have found a bug or a dead link, please tell me!
Next to the bug fix I made a small FAQ and some other small improvements to the website today. Although it is ready for launch now, that doesn't mean there's no more work to do. There are always improvements to be made, and I hope that the work has only just begun..

Official launch: Easter Monday

It is now possible to order blocks on the message board! I just finished and uploaded the ordering system. You can find it via Advertising in the main menu. First you can select which blocks you want to buy, after that you will be sent to an ordering form. After submitting the ordering form you are told what you need to do to complete the purchase.
I also opened a new e-mail address today which is meant for everything that has to do with advertising: advertising@message2all.com
With the ordering system I've completed a large and important part of the website. All that really has to be done before launch now is to create a FAQ and ofcourse some publicity. I'm settng the official launch date to be Easter Monday, the 17th of April.

The time has come to tell all your friends about this website and start posting some messages on the board!

Busy, busy

I've done some more work on the advertising block selection and it's all finished now. It still isn't online yet, because the ordering form which has to follow it isn't entirely finished and I want the whole system to be working for 100% before I give access to the public. Remember this does not mean it's not possible to order blocks yet, you can order them by e-mail!
That's all for now, more to come during the coming week...

Advertising block selection

Today I started making the application for selecting advertising blocks on the board. I'm not putting it online yet because I still need to do some testing, but I can assure you that it is looking good. It will be online either tomorrow or next week, which brings me ever closer to finishing the website. At least to be able to launch it, because I recon the work won't stop there. The further I come, the more exciting this gets...

Terms and Conditions

Today I've made up the Terms and Conditions for advertising. Next to that I've made some small improvements to the website: the board now fits in a screen with a resolution of 1024x768 and I've made placeholders for the ad list and the FAQ, which will be coming later this week. This last thing means that there are no more dead links in the menu.
Some things you can expect to come later this week are as mentioned the FAQ and the ad list as well as the possibility to select the blocks you want to buy and a form to complete the order. So keep checking on the website as the official launch is approaching...

What's the idea and who am I?

I've been thinking about ways to make a profitable website for quite a few years now, but I never really came to it. Until I had this great idea of making a virtual bulletin board, a real looking board instead of another boring forum!
You can place your message wherever you want on the board for free! Advertising is also possible, for that the board is divided into blocks of 50x50 pixels. These blocks are available for advertising at €50,- (approximately $60,-) each. As more blocks are sold, more blocks will be added to the top of the board. This way the board will keep on growing and more space will become available for your messages.
The message board will attract many visitors, who will keep coming back to read the reactions and place new messages as their old ones get snowed under. This makes the €0,02 per pixel money well spent because, unlike websites build for the sole purpose of selling pixels, Message2All.com actually offers something that keeps people coming back.

Now for the ‘Who am I?’ part: My name is Rik Moonen and I am a 20 year old dutch guy. I study Biomedical Engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology and I live in a students house. Ever since I was 13 years old and working on a tree plantage in the summer, I have been interested in the idea of earning money on the internet. Every time I heard someone's internet success story it inspired me to think of a profitable concept of my own. Though I've build quite a few websites in the meanwhile, some being pretty successful, I never really tried to earn money with one. That is until I had the idea for this website for which I bought the domain name www.message2all.com. I think it's a real nice name, and that the idea has got a good chance of success. I will at least make every possible effort to make it one!

I've been busy building this website for about a week now and it is really starting to look like something nice. There are still a few things left to do, but I expect to be finished by the end of this week, beginning of next week. I would love to work more on the website and finish it sooner, but my study comes first.
As soon as it's ready, I'll be making sure the website will get some publicity, so that it can become a real success story! In the meanwhile you can allready start posting messages. If you own a website, and you are interested in buying the very first advertising blocks click here!

Hope to see your messages appearing soon on Message2All.com!
